The DCOMS system is a redundant and highly reliable solution for mission critical communications, delivering superior aircraft audio performance to support critical mission roles. Originally designed for modern military trainer aircraft, it is equally suited for light fighter and ground attack aircraft.

Canyon’s DCOMS Model 4420 Audio Management Unit (AMU) is engineered for robust mission critical communications, providing dependable aircraft audio management. Controlled by a pair of Model 5520 Audio Control Panels (ACPs), the 4420 AMU is a remotely controlled electronic unit that operates using digital signal commands sent by the ACPs at pilot and copilot control stations via redundant serial data busses. It features automatic backup switching in the event of a fault, a manually selectable emergency mode, and built-in test functions that continuously report system status via ARINC429. Additionally, the 4420 includes a dual redundant aural warning generator for pre-recorded tones and voice warnings. Models 4420 and 5520 are compatible with commercial or military headsets.
